Snacks with Ms. T.

Sometime last year I had the please of working with an amazing woman named Rachael. I believe it was her first time in front of the camera and damn did she ever nail it. The photos were later published in Femme Modern Magazine and it is one of my favorite projects to date. What you can't see in the photos is the lady behind the scenes. The DJ. The hype (wo)man. The sub 5' power house: Theresa!

She was brought in for encouragement and moral support and her energy and music choices did not disappoint. Well the music cut out for a good chunk of time so maybe some disappointment.

Taking the music responsibilities into my own hands I let Theresa focus on herself for our shoot roughly a year later. It was a good decision because the music didn't stop once and my tastes are obviously superior. Attitude on full display, I give you Ms. T!

2018, Blogging and the 1st Month

This isn't my first attempt at blogging. Tumblr. Wordpress. Deviant Art even! None of them stuck. I've never been one for New Years resolutions but in the spirit of my constant procrastination, lets make one today. In 2018 we are going to Blog... or at least try too!

Today marks 1 month since I launched ikonimagery.ca. Those of you who have followed my work may remember the website I designed in photoshop/dreamweaver(yea it was all jpegs) roughly a decade ago while still in college. I hope nobody is still sending me emails to shawn@ikon-imagery.com! Things are a bit easier now and just about any idiot can make a boring, all white website like this one! The goal is to keep it function and up to date. No more lazy excuses. No more shooting and then hiding the files on some drive for the next 6 years. 6 months tops ;)

2018 has already been extremely positive for my family and for my love of photography. My wife and I welcomed our 3rd son, Hayden on January 21st. He, like his brothers before him, is stealing our hearts and our sleep routines and we couldn't be more happy. I've had the chance to work with some amazing people so far this year and it excites me to see where things will take us going forward. As mentioned above, I've had a terrible habit of hiding my work and have often shied away from discussing what I do when I'm not counting numbers for a pay cheque. My parents instilled modesty in me from a young age. This website and blog should hopefully stand as a way to break down some of those walls and give an outlet to share with you(seriously who is still reading this novel, you came here for pretty photos, right!?) what I see behind the lens.

Here's a little preview of whats happened the last 2 months. Hope you enjoy!
